I visited my hometown, Tallahassee, last year for the first time in many years. I was visiting for an old friend from high school’s baby shower. While I was there I took photos of another friend and her new baby...
As a Black Mountain Photographer, I have loved learning the area and finding several beautiful places to take photos. Black Mountain is one of the most beautiful spots in Western North Carolina and I am so happy to call it home. We have great mountain views and get to enjoy all 4 seasons.
My studio is located in downtown Black Mountain- above Louise’s Kitchen. This is a wonderful spot because it means that, particularly with newborn sessions, clients can enjoy a breakfast or wander about the shops while other family members are being photographed. My studio is all naturally lit. And I keep my studio wardrobe there. So even if you don’t want photos taken at the studio, often times we’ll meet in Black Mountain at the studio so you can get changed before we take your photos.
One of my favorite locations is in a neighboring town, Swannanoa. It is only a 15 minute drive from downtown Black Mountain. It has some beautiful wildflowers in the spring and summer. It also continues to stay green much longer than other places in town in the winter.
Another great option for Black Mountain Photographs is to visit Old Fort down the mountain. This location is also less than 15 minutes away and has beautiful mountain views and a gorgeous sunlit field.
Finally if you love field photos theres a great one right by the studio, just minutes from down town Black Mountain. This location is particularly great for getting some fall foliage. It also is wonderful for summer greens. What I love about this spot is its accessibility and the lighting is absolutely gorgeous.
