Katie and Dave live in Greenville, SC but Katie grew up in Asheville and was really excited about taking maternity photos at the Biltmore estate.

I’m so glad they made the drive up because I had a blast with them and am in love with how their photos turned out. I really enjoyed getting to know them and it turns out we ended up having a lot in common.

First thing was they are waiting to find out the gender of their baby! I love it when people do this. We had so much fun waiting to find out. Guessing and re-guessing and driving everyone insane because that meant they had to wait too. My parents did it for us so I just always assumed that was the way its done but then I’ve since met almost no one who’s doing that.

Next thing is they moved up here in the past year- just like us and for really similar reasons! They found out they were having a baby and didn’t want to be raising a family where they were. Where were they you ask? Orlando! Yes. They just moved up here from Orlando! Just like us!

But it gets even crazier. Turns out that we were basically next door neighbors.. Or at least our apartment complexes were right next to each other. So we literally lived less than a mile away from each other and then we move up to the Carolinas and meet. Its a small world after all.

Some other cool things about Dave and Katie- they got married in Scotland where Dave is from. If I remember correctly he said his mom lives on the ISLE OF SKYE. I’ve never been there but I’ve been convinced for years and years that it is potentially heaven its so pretty.

It was super rainy and stormy (of course- insert eye roll here because this happens to me literally every session) on the day of their session but we went with it anyways. Katie said in the two weeks they were in Scotland for their wedding, it only rained one day. You guessed it. Their wedding day. So she said it was only appropriate that they have rainy maternity photography as well.
