Reading stories has been an important part of Dan and I’s relationship and marriage. On our first date we discussed books and he lent me 100 Cupboards and we’d talk about it. This eventually transformed into us reading aloud Narnia. Ever since we got married, we’ve read tons of books at bedtime out loud. Its one of my favorite things. Now we have the joy of passing it down.
These past couple months, reading at bedtime with Mima has become so much more fun! She not only loves turning the pages, but also now likes to point at things and we tell her what those things are.
Things like bedtime routines can become repetitive, but it is a very sweet part of our life. I know the way Mima snuggles up on me now is very different than it was a year ago and is very different than it will be a year from now. I wanted a photo of it before it changed. I actually took this all on my own. The giveaway is in my right hand in the last photo. Its a photix flash trigger. It also doubles as a shutter button. So I put one trigger on the camera hotshoe and hold the other trigger in my hand. When I click the button, it tells my camera to fire! Easy as that. Gone are the days of self timers. I wish I’d gotten one of these things years ago.
