Some of my favorite family memories as a kid were made jumping in the blue waves on these beaches, kayaking in Watercolor, getting ice cream at Seaside, having long talks swinging on porch swings and reading books in the sun.

I remember having a debate as a teenager with some friends about “My favorite place in the world.” “Seaside.” was my answer. “Seaside? what about like.. London or Paris or Boston,” they retorted incredulously. “You said my favorite! Not “Best” or “Most important.” Seaside is special to me because it always has been and always will be.”

And that is true. When I was 1, my family began taking trips to 30A. Its a little haven of beauty and familiarity. I’ve seen it grow and expand over the past 30 years. The first photo I ever won an award for was taken there. And just a couple weeks ago I took my own baby there to do a session on these same beaches.
