I visited my hometown, Tallahassee, last year for the first time in many years. I was visiting for an old friend from high school’s baby shower. While I was there I took photos of another friend and her new baby...
This Asheville Newborn Photography session features this sweet newborn girl being welcomed into her new family. All the blankets and clothing seen here is provided by the studio wardrobe!
A couple of things I really value in Asheville Newborn Photography is simplicity, authenticity and nature.
Simplicity
I choose neutral colors for clothing and blankets to keep the images simple. This creates a nice clean look I like in the photos and then also makes the photos look really nice when they’re hanging in frames up in the house. This also helps draw attention away from bright clothing and onto the faces and expressions of the people you love.
Authenticity
Another distinctive of my philosophy is authenticity. I want the interactions in the photos to be real and loving. I want to place you and your family and your newborn baby in comfortable positions that feel natural and not forced. This way who you are shines through.
Nature
All of my family photos are done outside. People have grown to love the green tones and the natural light. I wanted to bring that into the newborn photos as well. I use all natural window light in the photos. This time I decided to pick up some florals from Flora to include more nature in the session. I absolutely love how it turned out and hope to do more things like this in the future.
