I visited my hometown, Tallahassee, last year for the first time in many years. I was visiting for an old friend from high school’s baby shower. While I was there I took photos of another friend and her new baby...

Mima is 15 months today. She’s a big fan of walking. Even more excited when she can find something with wheels to push around.. I’m looking at you Learning Farm Walker. I took her to the field earlier this week for some photos. It’s been a while since we took photos and I don’t think we have many of this fun new walking stage.
She signs “more” and “all done”. Waves hello and goodbye (is becoming more friendly with our friends at Frisbees when we get groceries) and will occasionally give a high five. She shakes her head no.. especially when the snacks are healthy. I’ve seen here working on nodding yes, but she hasn’t used it to communicate yet. She says “Doggy” all the time and she LOVES the dogs. She gives them toys, climbs up on their dog bed to sit with them, pets them and lays her head down on their back to cuddle. When things are really desperate, we show her videos of dogs to calm her down. She also says “This” but with the inflection of a question… so “This?” And she just learned “Uh oh”… which means now I’m teaching her that its not an “uh oh” when you throw it down on purpose.
She loves to read. Its so fun to find her “reading” to herself babbling with an excited inflection, pointing at the different pictures and turning the pages. Her favorite books are Go Dog Go (she’s a big fan of a lot of the Dr. Suess books) and an All Things Bright and Beautiful board book.
We switched to one nap which means we’ve got a span of time between 11-12:30 now that we’ve got to do something extremely interesting for her to not lose it. So we’ve been going for walks around town. I’m so grateful we live in walking distance from the library, grocery store and “downtown” and very grateful that the heat isn’t very bad here and some days are even nice outside.
She looks like a toddler now. It happened over night. I look at photos from just a couple months ago and I’m amazing by what a different kid she is. Time is flying and we’re loving every minute of raising her.
