You would never know that Shannon and Allen’s Lake Lure engagement session was the first time they’d ever had professional photos taken of them before. They did were naturals!

They also have the sweetest story. When they were little kids, they met on the church bus and rode it together for two years. They became best friends. After years of friendship, a serious relationship blossomed. One morning, Allen insisted they revisit the church they met at and as the service ended, he got down on one knee and asked Shannon to marry him! So sweet!

They’re getting married on a dock at the Peninsula Yacht Club on Lake Norman so they wanted an engagement session that went with a similar theme. So we chose Lake Lure, NC just an hour outside of Asheville! The great part of this location is that the park there has so many great little spots so you can get a variety of images.

Another bonus was the weather was a dream! (I think I talk a lot about the weather on my blog, but if you know anything about me, especially being from Florida, you know I am a bit enamored with the weather here.) In addition to having literally perfect weather, we could smell flowers the entire time we walked around the park taking pictures! I had so much fun working with these two and can’t wait to join them as their wedding photographer on their big day in September.
