I visited my hometown, Tallahassee, last year for the first time in many years. I was visiting for an old friend from high school’s baby shower. While I was there I took photos of another friend and her new baby...
Its been over a month now since Alban George made his grand entrance!
I feel like the luckiest person in the world right now. He came super early but not too early, super fast but he wasn’t born on the way to the hospital, and we have a son! I do hope to have more kids, but it is very fun that we now have both a girl and a boy.
Mima absolutely adores him. She loves helping and is very proud of him and her role as Big Sister.
He has way less hair than Mima did when she was born and he actually now has less hair than he did when he was born too! But he’s got those precious little hobbit ears.
He definitely has my finger toes and gigantic hands. So I’m 2 for 2 on that front. For everyone who likes to know the stats: He was 7lbs 14 oz and 19 inches long at birth. I’m not sure how big he is now but it honestly feels like he’s doubled in size!
I am reminded every time I do a newborn session how much I like babies. But nothing really compares to your own. I absolutely LOVE babies. We’re enjoying all the snuggles and swaddles and weird grunty noises while they last.
Special thanks to my mom for taking some of these family photos for us at the studio. She knows how precious they are to me and was a trooper trying to learn.
Alban George, I’m so happy to meet you and can’t wait to see who you’ll grow up to be.
Blessings on you, baby boy.
Your story has begun.
May you greet grief with courage and peace with joy.
May you be brave and kind and strong and wise.
May you laugh a lot and live with delight.
May you know your maker. And love him until you run out of heartbeats and then some more into eternity.
